Bonaire - Red Slave Huts

I just returned from Bonaire, one of the ABC islands about 60 miles off Caracas, Venezuela. This image is of a cluster of slave huts at the south end of the island near the Cargill solar salt salinas. In the 1850s, salina workers used these huts to rest and get out of the sun. The red obelisk was used by ships as an alignment tool for anchoring.
