The very bad ass DJI Inspire 1 quad is here and undergoing acceptance testing. Needed firmware upgrade to kill a couple of bad habits. I'm spending some time flying it in the Simulator just because I haven't flown a Simulator before. Very cool stuff. Should have it in the air shooting in a day or two.
Yeah, came in its own ballistic nylon case. Very baddd.
I've liked this quote since first seeing it and it's been attributed to Jerry Garcia (The Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band). But, it actually came from J.R.R. Tolkien, author of The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings and numerous other books. It came from this: "All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by frost." -- with Jerry Garcia.
Well, well, DJI things are looking up. My pre-ordered Inspire 1 dual operator drone is "being prepped for delivery" at B&H NY as of today (1/11/2015) and I have a tracking number. The Ground Station piece is due here Tuesday. Friend Eric Cheng, DJI's Director of Aerial Imaging, put me in the closed group for Inspire Actual Owners yesterday. I have the User Manual and am going through it. Friend Paul Conto is working in Dubai and he's had his Inspire for five days and is passing his experiences to me each flying day. I'm looking forward to this coming week; a week of simple pleasures and new experiences. smile emoticon
