New Old Cavalier Demolition: Too windy for drone, so shooting just DSLR today. Interesting procedure for gutting the insides. Hole cut in roof at top circle, crane picked up Bobcat (bottom circle) and lowered it into hole to demolish top floor interior and push debris off the balcony in center of building. Then, jackhammered three sides of rectangular hole in that floor and it fell to the next floor down making a "ramp." The Bobcat then drove down the "ramp" and cleaned the next floor and so on. Yikes.

Couldn't fly today. Winds were gusting to 19mph+ here and 25-30 around Virginia Beach. But, beautiful day!

DJI Inspire 1 camera doesn't record audio and I wanted some drone arming, takeoff and flying sound so bolted an Olympus recorder to a landing strut and captured 10 minutes of audio this morning.

Cavalier Hotel (New) Demolition today. Mark Edward Atkinson and I were watching this wishing it would have come down by an "Implosion." This was a quick non-architectural shot with the Nikon. Also have stills and 4k video from the DJI Inspire drone. Had some wind (10mph gusts) but the Inspire handled it fine.

Travel yesterday (Friday Mar 6) was fraught with challenges. St Croix to MIA was an hour and a half late ("mechanical"). Missed connecting flight MIA-ORF and nothing else available. Ended up at downtown Miami Hilton to get 3 hours sleep and back to airport to fly 6AM MIA-Philadelphia-Richmond, VA (best option if we didn't want to wait until Monday). My YukonXL is at the Norfolk airport, so we'll rent a car and drive from Richmond to Norfolk. But, looking on the bright side, none of our flights have run off the runway. 😊
