April 27, 2006The CryptThe sculpture, Sound II, in the North isle of the crypt under Winchester Cathedral in Winchester, England is normally calf-to-knee deep in water. Note the waterlines on the camera-right wall. The artist, Anthony Gromley designed the sculpture for that environment. I arranged for access to the crypt before flying and expected water, but on April 27, 2006, the crypt was dry. It's a function of the water table.
